Nightingale Terms Beta
Version 2026-10-07 · Part of FXfolder Bots
1. What Nightingale is
Nightingale is software: an Expert Advisor that runs inside your own MetaTrader 4 or 5 terminal, on your own trading account. It trades MSNR (Malaysian support and resistance) strategy templates using settings you choose yourself, sizes each trade from the risk you set as a percentage of your current balance, and applies the loss limits you set for your account. It is a tool. FXfolder does not trade for you, does not manage your account, does not choose your strategy and gives no investment advice. It is not a managed account, a signal service or a copy-trading service. Nothing in the bot, its templates, its presets or its tracker is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
These terms add to the FXfolder Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Risk Disclaimer. You must be at least 18 and hold an active FXfolder membership to configure the bot or let it open trades.
2. Beta
Nightingale is in beta. It has not yet been verified widely on live terminals. It may have bugs, behave differently from what you expect, change without notice, or be paused. Watch it closely while you rely on it, and tell us what you find through Support.
3. Real money, and demo first
You may run Nightingale on a real-money account during the beta. Before you do, run it on a demo account for long enough to see how it behaves with your settings; you confirm that you will when you create a bot. On a real account it trades your own money. You can lose some or all of it, and a fast market or a price gap can lose more than the limits you set. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
4. Your strategy, your decisions
- You can start from a preset or build a strategy yourself. Either way you review every setting and decide to run it. Presets are starting points written by FXfolder to show how each template works. They are not tested for profit and no result is implied. Review every value before you trade.
- MSNR has no single official definition. Nightingalefollows FXfolder's written rules, set out on the Nightingale page. They may differ from how you or anyone else reads a chart, and we may refine them.
- You decide whether and when trading is on, and you can switch it off at any time.
- Past results, including backtests, do not predict future results. Trading can lose all of the money in an account.
5. Your limits and how they are measured
- Daily loss is a percentage of the day's starting balance. The day resets at the time and timezone you choose.
- Maximum drawdown is a fixed amount, the percentage you set of your starting balance, measured either below the highest equity the account has reached (trailing) or below the starting balance itself (static).
- Your starting balance is captured automatically from the bot's first report from the account. If you move the bot to a different MetaTrader account, tracking starts again from that account's balance.
- Deposits and withdrawals are not counted as profit or loss, and broker credit or bonuses are not counted as equity.
- The limits are measured on the whole account, so trades you place by hand move the account toward or away from them too.
When the share of a limit you choose has been used, the guard stops the bot opening new trades; at a later share, before the limit itself, it closes the bot's open trades. It only ever closes the bot's own trades. It never closes or changes a trade you placed by hand.
The guard runs in your terminal and acts on every price update, on a best-effort basis. It cannot prevent every loss beyond your limits. In particular:
- It only works while your terminal is running and connected. A closed terminal, a lost connection or a stopped VPS protects nothing beyond the stops already at your broker.
- Prices can gap past a level or a stop, and orders can fill with slippage, especially around news, at the open and over weekends.
- Your broker may reject, delay or partially fill an order.
- While the bot talks to FXfolder (a few seconds at most), it does not react to prices.
6. If your membership ends
The bot stops opening new trades within a day of your membership ending (immediately once it next hears from FXfolder). It keeps applying its last risk settings to trades it already holds, and keeps sending you safety alerts, so that ending a membership never leaves a position unprotected. You can switch trading off, remove the key or delete the bot at any time.
7. One bot per account, hedging accounts only
Each MetaTrader account runs one FXfolder bot. A second copy, of Nightingale or of any other FXfolder bot, refuses to start on the same account. On MetaTrader 5 the bot needs a hedging account; it does not trade on a netting account.
8. Acceptable use
- Use the bot only on accounts you own and are entitled to trade.
- Do not share your bot key or sell access to your bot.
- Do not modify the bot to get around its risk guard or its license check.
- Do not run the bot where your broker prohibits Expert Advisors.
We may switch off new entries for a bot, a template or the whole service at any time, for example if a template misbehaves. The guard keeps running.
9. Data the bot sends
To run the tracker and alerts, the bot sends FXfolder your trading account number, server and broker name, account currency and type, balance, equity, margin, deposits and withdrawals, the bot's open positions and closed trades, and a log of what the bot did. It never sends your trading password. Closed trades are filed in your FXfolder journal. Deleting a bot deletes its tracker history and activity log; journal trades stay until you delete them.
10. No guarantees, and liability
Nightingale is provided as is, and in beta. We do not promise any result, any profit, or that your limits will never be exceeded. To the fullest extent the law allows, FXfolder is not liable for trading losses, missed profits, or losses caused by your terminal, broker, connection, account or settings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version above changes when we do, and a bot cannot switch trading on until its owner accepts the current version.
