0:00Before you start
Hi, and welcome! This is PropPilot, the prop firm bot from FXfolder Bots. It's in beta. In the next few minutes, we'll set it up on FXfolder together, then install it in MetaTrader. You'll need three things: an FXfolder membership, MetaTrader 5 or 4, and an account to run it on. One tip before we start: try it on a demo account first, and only move to a challenge once you've watched it trade.
0:29Create the bot: your account
Sign in, open Bots, then PropPilot, and choose New PropPilot. Step one is your account. Give your bot a name, and pick your terminal. Next, choose your firm, the program, the phase, and your account size. PropPilot loads that firm's rules for you: the daily loss limit, the maximum loss, and the profit target. These are the lines it guards, on every single tick. And if your firm doesn't allow an Expert Advisor at that size, the wizard tells you right here, and stops. Then choose Next.
1:07Choose a preset
Step two is the strategy. The easiest way in is Start from a preset, which fills everything in for you. Pick one. We'll use Gold London open breakout. It marks gold's 07:00 to 08:00 London range, and trades a close beyond it. Just so you know, presets are starting points. They're not tested for profit. Here's the thing: other members can pick the same preset, and prop firms look for identical trades across accounts. So at a prop firm, PropPilot asks you to make it yours, by changing one entry setting before it can trade. Here, we'll move the range start from 07:00 to 07:15. A time needs to move by at least 15 minutes, and a number by about 10%. Then choose Review all settings, to see every value, including the symbols and the time zone. And choose Next.
2:01Review the risk guard
Step three is the risk guard. The preset has filled it in, so just review each value. Risk per trade is the share of your account risked on each stop. Here, it's half a percent. New trades stop at 60% of the firm's daily allowance, and everything closes at 85%. The same pair of levels applies to the maximum loss, for the whole phase. And every trade carries a stop. These checks run inside your terminal on every tick, even when FXfolder can't be reached.
2:33Alerts, review and create
Step four is where the bot's trades get logged, and how it reaches you. Keep a new journal account, and tick push and email. You'll get an alert at 50, 75, and 90% of a limit, and whenever the bot stops or closes trades. Step five: check the summary, read and tick each statement, and accept the PropPilot terms. Now choose Create bot. Don't worry, it's created with trading switched off.
3:04Create your key and download
The install window opens. Choose Create my bot key. Your key is shown only once. But you won't need to paste it anywhere: the bot you download already has it filled in. Copy the API address. You'll add it in MetaTrader in a moment. Then download PropPilot.mq5.
3:26Allow FXfolder in MetaTrader
Now, over to MetaTrader 5. Open it, and log in to your demo account. Open Tools, then Options, and go to the Expert Advisors tab. Tick Allow algorithmic trading. Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL, and add the API address you copied: https://api.fxfolder.com Choose OK. This step matters: without it, the bot can't fetch its settings, and the Experts log will tell you so.
3:56Put the file in place
Next, open File, then Open Data Folder. Open MQL5, then Experts, and move PropPilot.mq5 in there. On MetaTrader 4, it's exactly the same, just with the MQL4 folder and PropPilot.mq4.
4:15Compile in MetaEditor
Back in MetaTrader, press F4 to open MetaEditor. In its Navigator, open Experts, then PropPilot.mq5. Press F7 to compile. The Errors tab should finish with 0 errors. That creates PropPilot.ex5, which is the file MetaTrader actually runs.
4:38Attach it to one chart
In MetaTrader's Navigator, open Expert Advisors. If you don't see PropPilot there yet, right-click and choose Refresh. Open one chart. Any symbol works, because PropPilot trades the symbols in your settings. Drag PropPilot onto that chart. Just one copy per account: a second copy refuses to start. On the Common tab, tick Allow Algo Trading. On the Inputs tab, ApiKey and ApiUrl are already filled in, so leave them just as they are. Choose OK, and check that the Algo Trading button on the toolbar is switched on.
5:18Check the connection
And there it is! The chart's top-left corner shows PropPilot's status: connected, the license, and how much of each limit is used. The Experts tab logs everything it does. To check its rule engine on your own terminal, set SelfTest to true once, and read the result there. Within a minute, your bot's page on FXfolder shows the account as connected.
5:43Turn trading on
Trading stays off until you switch it on. When you're ready, choose Turn trading on. The tracker shows your profit target, the daily and maximum loss used, and your trading days, updated every minute. If your membership ever lapses, PropPilot stops opening new trades, but keeps protecting the ones it already has. To stop it, choose Turn trading off here, or switch off Algo Trading in MetaTrader.
6:11Good to know
A few quick tips. Keep your terminal running: a VPS keeps the bot working while your computer is off. When your firm gives you the next phase's account, open Settings, choose Start the next phase, and create a new key. Prop firm rules change, so always confirm yours with your firm. Automated trading carries risk, and no result is guaranteed. So start on demo, watch it closely, and take it one step at a time.
What it does
Trades Your Plan, Guards Your Account
Ready in minutes
Pick a preset with every setting filled in and review it. On FTMO and FundedNext accounts you change one entry setting first, so your trades are your own. Or build a strategy from scratch.
Your firm’s limits, every tick
PropPilot knows your firm’s daily and maximum loss rules. It stops new trades at the level you choose and closes trades before the firm’s line, inside your terminal.
Every trade has a stop
Positions are sized from the risk you set. A trade is skipped if every open trade hitting its stop would cross your close level.
A tracker for your challenge
Target progress, daily loss used, distance to the maximum loss, trading days and live equity, on one page.
Alerts before it matters
Push, Telegram or email at 50, 75 and 90% of a limit, and whenever PropPilot stops or closes trades. The terminal alerts you too, even offline.
Safe by default
Created with trading off. One copy per account. If your membership ends it opens nothing new, and keeps protecting the trades it holds.

Honest limits
What PropPilot Cannot Do
- It only works while your terminal is running and connected.
- Prices can gap past a level and orders can fill with slippage, especially around news and weekends.
- Firms change their rules. We show the date each firm’s rules were checked, and you confirm them with your firm.
- It does not decide whether a strategy is any good, and nothing about it guarantees you pass a challenge.
- It is in beta. Expect rough edges, and run it on a demo account first.
FAQ
PropPilot Questions
Do prop firms allow PropPilot?
It depends on the firm and the account. FTMO allows Expert Advisors, with a shared cap on how much capital one strategy can trade across its users. FundedNext allows them only on MetaTrader accounts under $50,000. PropPilot refuses to trade on accounts its rules library says do not allow an EA, but firms change their rules, so confirm with yours before you trade.
Why do I have to change a preset at a prop firm?
Other members can pick the same preset. Firms look for identical trades across accounts, and some require each EA to run a distinct strategy. Changing one entry setting, such as when the session range starts, means your entries are not the same as everyone else’s.
Will PropPilot help me pass my challenge?
It keeps a strategy inside your firm’s daily and maximum loss limits, which is where many challenges are lost. It does not make a strategy profitable, and no result is guaranteed. The presets are starting points, not tested for profit.
Does my computer need to stay on?
PropPilot runs inside your MetaTrader terminal, so the terminal has to be running and connected for it to trade and protect your account. Many traders run MetaTrader on a VPS for this. Every trade also carries a stop at your broker.
What does it cost?
PropPilot is included with every FXfolder membership, from $49 a month. There is nothing extra to buy.
What happens if my membership ends?
PropPilot stops opening new trades and keeps protecting the trades it already holds, with your last settings. Renew and it carries on.
Which platforms does it run on?
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, on hedging accounts. It does not run on cTrader, Match-Trader or MetaTrader 5 netting accounts.
